## Upload survey data

+New project will take you to the page below. Drop your data file onto the tile, or click the dotted box to upload a file (CSV or SPSS).

## Schedule a session

Press "Schedule a session" to be view the project support calendar. Choose a date and time for an initial work session.

## Select version

New to Protobi? Select an intro project, and let us show you what's possible. You'll get temporary access to a full interactive online view of your entire survey with admin access. We'll help you get setup and you can schedule an intro design work session.

## Authorize payment

Enter billing details to request an invoice.

## Project settings

After you press "Request invoice", you will see the [project settings](/admin-access/project-settings) to-do page with the new project info.

## Overview

Press the [overview](/admin-access/logo-and-splash-images) tab. Here you can edit project details and add [a logo and splash image](/admin-access/logo-and-splash-images).

## Permissions

Grant your client and colleagues access to the project on the [permissions](https://help.protobi.com/adminaccess/project-permissions?from_search=94871061) tab.

## Upload supporting documents

In the [data](/admin-access/project-data) tab you can add supporting documents such as the survey questionnaire by pressing +New document.

Upload the file into the document table:

## Open your project

Press the "Open" tab in project settings to see an initial view of your survey data.

Protobi creates an initial view where every column in your data appears as an interactive chart.

## Create an initial design

The next step is to neatly organize what may be many hundreds or thousands of data columns into higher level groups and tweak how they appear.

Start by running [Autogroup](/edit-access/autogroup) to organize your data into sections.

Make design tweaks so each appears in a form suitable for your analysis:

-   [Compact](/edit-access/compact-to) checkboxes and ratings into tidy collections
-   [Extract common text](/edit-access/extract-common-text) into parent groups
-   [Translate](/edit-access/translate-languages) text verbatims
-   [Bin numeric values](/edit-access/bin-numeric-values) into ranges
-   [Recode](/videos/recode-text-for-analysis-video) text verbatims
-   Set [filters](/edit-access/element-filters) to reflect skip patterns
-   Change [chart types](/charts/charttypes)
-   [Zero fill](/intermediate-editor/zero-filling) missing values
-   Edit value [formats](/edit-access/formatting)
